This is the best book so far. I thoroughly enjoyed the first two books but I think Greg Dunnett has found his, nearly twelve year old, voice. The story keeps you enthralled throughout, in fact I didn’t put it down until I had finished it and now I am missing Billy already. The device of speaking to the reader is so well implemented that it made me feel like a trusted friend and the overall writing style is effortless and makes reading easy. I also found that the references to the sea and sea l [...]

Exciting!Gregg Dennett is my favourite author of the moment. His books are well written (a few extra commas here and there, but who's counting). It's an exciting story set on an imaginary island with plenty of twists and turns and a really good finish. The main character is an eleven year old boy who is amazingly smart, and after a couple of false starts finally figures out the true story. The surfing scenes are amazingly realistic, I could actually feel Billy's fear when he is made to go in the [...]

BrilliantThis is Greg's best work to date .I loved both his earlier books but the characters in this one were especially likeable. The main character Billy made me laugh and I felt invested in him and even thought about him when I wasn't able to read on , wondering what was going to happen next. Loved it nothing to fault hence five stars if you liked wave at hanging Rick and the desert run you will not be disappointed.

Mr Dunnett has done it again, another cracking book. It takes a little while to warm up, but once Billy has solved the crime this goes at a really good pace. It's gripping, it has twists, it is terrific.Dear Mr Dunnett, write faster, write more :)

For a thriller, this was a fun one. Easy to read, told through the eyes of an eleven year old boy. It has some twists, but I pretty much knew who the bad person was by the last few chapters. This would be a 3 1/2. I still think Gregg Dunnett's novel The Wave at Hanging Rock was his best so far. He is just an enjoyable, entertaining author, nothing too deep.

This is the 2nd novel by this author I have read and both have been well written and suspenseful. Billy is an unusual 11 year old living on a small island with his surfer dad. they basically have nothing in common. Bad things happen that cause Billy to doubt his dad and things only get worse when the police get involved.

Another great thriller!Interesting protagonist as young Billy - had a real feeling of his perspective in trying to prove his suspicions - probably one of very few books written from this angle that I've read. A real page turner and plenty of twists and turns. Thoroughly enjoyed it and I am a confirmed fan of Gregg Dunnett - read all 3 of his books!
