Wow. Just wow.I love books. I love reading. I really like most books. I think quite a few books are fantastic. There are a handful of books that I think are phenomenal. It is actually quite rare for me to just not like a book. But this book is teetering on the edge of just not liking it and flat out hating it.There were several times I thought about not finishing this book. Then I would take a break, play angry birds for a while, and talk myself into reading some more. Honestly, the only reason [...]

Rating 4.0/4.5 StarsI really enjoyed this book. I must admit I thought it was going to be this dark and dramatic read where I am reading with my mouth hanging open and uttering nonsense to myself. The beginning did have one or two of those moments but once you get into the story it is more of a non-traditional love story and soooo good!We meet Elena as she is leaving work one night and is waiting for the bus to arrive. She notices someone across the street but gets caught up in her own thoughts [...]

I did not like Stealing Grace at all. I felt like I was reading a bad lifetime movie, and I actually like some bad lifetime movies but nooo. Everything was just too contrived, too pollyana and we are talking about sex slaves and human trafficking. I actually have a hard time reading about abuse in books for any Friends fans I can easily play Phoebe and go along with the author and say old yeller lived or take the blue pill go on with disbelief (matrix) but I can not go along with the plot in thi [...]

Before I read this book, I saw that it received quite a few negative reviews. Since I am a Shelly Crane fan, I figured it would be worth a read though since I love her writing style. On top of that, I found the concept of this book pretty interesting. As a read it, I realized that on top of dealing with Stockholm Syndrome (which is kind of one of the main concepts in the book in a way), there are also other issues like human trafficking and the influence of traditional gender roles in society th [...]

This book is different. It is not a typical hot romance, it is not erotica, however it does have elements of romance and gosh does it have a dose of surreal reality. The subject matter is plausible and yet it isn't. It is about white/sexual slavery, one where a whole entire community is involved. The book is fiction yet it has elements where I said to myself, yeah I can see it happening, but then I was like no way can it exist/happen in reality.Don't pick up this book if you expect another seduce [...]

I have never read You might want to considerIf you are looking for a complex story, you might be okay with this, even then you might need a strong stomach for this book. The plot was out of this world. Just that it remained there and never came back. I lost my interest right after they start fumbling about falling in love. What i can't figure out, is why Amy stayed with Roger? i thought about it and then decided I am not that curious so as to read the next one.

This is a book about human trafficking. It is a very real situation happening all over the world. This book is about a very unusual look at the situation.Get ready to feel many things when reading this emotionally charged wonderful story. She makes you feel the pain and the heartache and brings you all the way to forgiveness and love. It is a must read. Loved, Loved, Loved it.

another great book by Shelly Crane. I love how in the midst of tragedy and heartbreak, love finds a way. And even with all the bad stuff taking place in story, I found myself smiling quite a bit at the 2 main characters, Alex and Elena. oooh do I love me some Alex. ;)

This was a very interesting book. Only Shelly Crane could take a subject like human trafficking and write a romance. This was the only book I haven't read by Ms. Crane. Her Significance series is my all time favorite and has made me a full lifeime fanatic. Elena is stolen off the streets and taken through the seedy world of human trafficking. She ends up being sold into being a wife as a part of a cult-like society. But Alex, her husband, has always felt that the treatment of the women was abusi [...]

Wow! What an amazing story! I really wasn’t sure what to expect when I started this. I knew it would be a little scary and emotional but I never expected so many wonderful romantic moments! Elena is such a beautiful person. She’s had a very difficult life so far but she still remains loving, forgiving, and has an incredible amount of faith in herself, God, and humanity in general. And Alex, he was quite a surprise! He was so strong, handsome, honest, and probably the only person in the commu [...]

I was seriously worried when I started this book. I wanted so bad to like it because I love all of Shelly's other books. The story line scared me at first but in true Shelly form, the characters captured my heart. The story is about human trafficing which is a part of this world's harsh reality. But more than that it's about people being able to over come their trials and pain in life if they choose to rise above. Someone else choices do not have to define who you are or how you choose to live. [...]

Shelly wrote about a very serious and disgusting topic about human trafficking and managed to turn it into a brilliantly eye opening story. It is hard to write about such topics because they normally do not end well. Her characters are wonderful. I fell in love with Alex He managed not to become what he was raised to be. Goes to show you that cycles CAN BE BROKEN Alex and Elena are a wonderful couple with such amazing hearts and outlooks on life. Praise to Shelly!!

The most horribly cliché book that I have ever readting enough to hold my attention but had me cringing in horror ever so often. After the first quarter things just went downhillrreal on a never-before-seen level. The relationship between the Alex and Elena had me rolling my eyes most of the time because it was in no way believable! An interesting premise of human trafficking and messed up communities that float under the radar of normal society; too bad it was executed poorly.

GREAT BOOK. EYE OPENER TO HUMAN TRAFFICKING. IT didnt go into great traumatizing details, but enough to give you a glimpse. I thought it would turn out to be with Stockholm Syndrome, but I was proven wrong. Looking forward to reading "Taking Faith"

So the first thing to admit is this is no DARK ROMANCE. Don’t let the title or blurb confuse you. Sure Elana is practically kidnapped but it’s not in any way for sexual abuse or any real dark elements. Alex has Elana kidnapped because that’s his way of life. His community has always ‘kidnapped’ their wives, it’s just the way. Alex in no way wants to harm Elana, in fact he only has her now because at his age it was looked down upon in the community to not have a wife. So Alex marries [...]

I thought this book was going to be dark and, although it verses about a very dark issue, it is definitely more light than dark. In the middle of it, the story drags a bit. I mean, not much happens, but if you're into the characters, you enjoy it nonetheless in a slow, not desperately rushed to read and find out what's next kind of way. Elena was a cool heroine and Alex, one of the sweetest guys I've ever read about. Certainly the "nicest" kidnapper. Loads and loads of grammatical errors in the [...]

I just finished Stealing Grace. This is a book about a subject that a lot of people don't like to hear about. Human trafficking is something you think happens in counties where the people are poor. Well to tell you the truth it happens everywhere. Its sad that men/women do thing sort of thing to other humans. Shelly Crane bring this gut wrenching story to you in a way that you can tell what the girls/women are dealing with when they are take. What's really sad about this its not only women that [...]

This is an incredibly realistic story about the horrors people face. It sheds light on serious criminal acts and how it is a constant factor in everyday life. This book also gets the point across about forgiveness, redemption, and love. People can change, and families don't define you. Love has the power to change you, it can make you stronger. Don't forget "Everything happens for a reason".Elena and Alex are the definition of compassionate. Both lived through terrible things. Instead of letting [...]

Ok so I would give this book about a 2.5 if I could. I struggle between giving it two or three stars but I just can't give it 3 stars in the state that it's in.First of all, let me just say that this story has a lot of POTENTIAL. It's a good story line and I enjoyed reading it and kept wondering what would happen next. However, there were SO many grammatical errors and misspelled words, some that autocorrect should have caught right away, that it was hard to read the book at times because I was g [...]

I loved this story! (Shelly Crane I expected nothing less) I've been on a NA / Coming of Age binge so this was a great change of pace. This story is creative, intriguing, and unlike any other book that I have read. Although the book deals with difficult situations and there's definitely some darker details that were hard to readis is a sweet story. It's considered inspirational fiction so you're not going to find every chapter filled with a sexual escapade. I enjoy a spicy read myself but someti [...]

First of all, I normally love Shelly's books. So, I was a bit disappointed by this one. The story line is a good one but the content drug out a lot through the middle of the book. There were some minor editing issues but nothing too detrimental. I'm guessing that with better editing parts of the middle of the book would have been cut out altogether. But never fear, the main Characters of the book are well developed and just welllove will conquer all types. Shellynda left wondering what happened [...]
