Enjoyable for the most part. However, I was a little put off that Katy was so easy to forgive her friend for going out of her way to sabotage Katy's relationship with Scott. I wouldn't have been nearly so forgiving if I were her.Still, the story was fun. The sex was nice. I liked that preconceived notions and the idea that we can change were addressed. Still don't care for the conniving best friend. This book was a free Kindle download I picked up 11/10/12 for the Why Buy the Cow? reading challen [...]

I really enjoyed this story, it was a short and sweet story about embracing life and finding new people to love along the way. The main characters Scott and Katy had no deep dark secrets to tear each other apart and the biggest issues they had was the jealousy of Katy's best friend and her mother's inability to see past Scott's high school reputation. But even these issues weren't really that big and were resolved really easily which made this an easy and fun book with no angst! The only problem [...]

Original review posted at A Date with a Book.I decided to read a few holiday books this month. I choose this book because I had read Sweet Vengeance by Cindy Stark earlier this year and it did not disappoint. This book was no exception. I really enjoyed this book.I loved how the author is able to create such passionate moments whether they are “positive” or “negative”. The emotional roller coaster is so evident, but it is what made this such a great read for me. Just hoping and hoping as [...]

I really enjoyed the latest installment in Cindy Stark's Aspen series. I've read several of her books, and like her writing style- clean, just descriptive enoughd steamy sex scenes. This story was no different.Katy has always been the "good girl". When she finally decides she needs to live a bit, the "bad boy" she's fantasized about from high school comes back into her life. Scott has spent the past 10 years trying to live down his bad reputation and make something of himself. He's build a succe [...]

What a wonderful story this was! Katy has always played it "safe" in her life's choices but now her bad boy from highschool crush is back on the scene and has her heating up and ready to let it all hang out which is sooooo not like her but ohhh what he does to her! (I mean literally too!) I think I could almost sympathize with most of the characters in the story especially Katy because I feel like I was a good girl but wanted to be bad at times but please don't tell my mama! I could feel where S [...]

This was a good shorter story. Its about Katy who is an accountant with a boring job, and Scott the town bad boy who owns his own construction company. This is ten years later when Scott's company is building an addition on a hospital in town and Katy is left with the expense reports, since her boss eloped. Katy is drawn to Scott and while they work together they are also attracted to each other. read this one to find out what happens along the way to romance.

A bad boy romance with an action packed storyline but with an element of sweet to it. This is the perfect mix for a festive little story. Even though this is part of a series it can be read as a standalone. Perfect

Katy River’s life was boring. She was an accountant in a medical clinic. After she dumped her ex, her nemesis tried to vex her and luckily she was saved by Scott Beckstead, a bad boy turned successful construction owner. Scott had a difficult past and everyone thought of him as nothing but troublemaker. So when Katy agreed to go on a date with him, he felt that finally he had the chance to be with the girl he had a crush on since high school. The only flaw in this book is probably the title. I [...]

Scott wasn't my favourite but I'm happily surprised that this book was great. I loved that Scott was the bad boy rebel but only because losing his mum at 16 his only parent effected so badly. No one saw this or the changes he made in his life to be a better person. It's only when Katy runs into him again and he starts wooing her that you see a completely different side to him. Katy has alway been a good girl and craves excited and a bit of danger. She thinks she can work out her frustration with [...]

I enjoyed this book. Having not read any in this series, I thought I may be missing somethings, but this book does a good job as a stand-alone.I really did like the dynamic between Katy and Scott. I wasn't thrilled with Katy's mother or her best friend. They both seemed a little stifling, and I could feel the jealousy from her best friend coming off the pages in the book. And I would've liked to see a little retribution to Nina somewhere in there. All in all it was pretty good and I will probably [...]

I got this free from .I found it interesting that the author decided to base her books in a made up town in Utah. The author lives inUtah somewhere so that was fun. This book was okay. I liked the characters and I liked how the author was creative in her adventures that the characters took. This book kept my interest. Although this genre isn't known for being deep, I think this author does a good job at writing books that have more depth than most.

This was a chance kindle download. The relationship between Katy and Scott had a nice set-up, but I was not impressed with Katy or Scott as characters. What flat-out bothered me was how Katy and her friend had been set-up to monitor each others' language, Katy only seemed to have one friend and no other social life, how Katy's mom totally disregarded her privacy, and the issue with Katy's possible promotion. But, it was still a decent short story.

Disappointing! I guess I'm a prude. I quit reading somewhere in Chapter 9. Prior to that it was going along pretty good and I had high hopes for it. I wish I had seen the review "MKay" gave on , sooner. Out of fairness, I went back and skimmed over the racy stuff- to see if there was much of a story. You see, part of the short review mentioned that it was "soft porn" with very little to the story-line. It was right on the money and I wouldn't have ordered it if I had realized that!

I have now read all of this author's books and I have to say she has become one of my favorites, her best being Sweet Vengeance. This book was really sweet and makes you believe in second chances. I love the fact that Katy and Scott knew each other in high school but didn't find one another until later in life. I really like Cindy's style of writing and the sex scenes are somewhat steamy without being overdone. I would recommend reading this book.

I enjoyed this story. I rather liked how Katy took back control of her life from her best friend, her mother, and her boss. And I liked that even though Scott had an unsavory reputation as a teenager, that didn't mean he couldn't have become a better person over the years.Although I thought that Katy's best friend was just looking out for her in the beginning, I was rather shocked by her behavior later on.

I enjoyed this novella. Katy and Scott really had to work together to get their relationship moving forward. I was a little shocked at how Katy jumped into the sexual part of the relationship since she was described as always playing it safe. I congratulate Katy on her forgiveness of her friend. I don't think I would be that generous. I was proud of her for standing up to her Mom, her friend and her boss.

I was really into this book and then I got to about 3/4 the way done with it and felt like it was really rushed and important things were left out. The plot was very well written and I just wished the author would've spent more time developing the ending. Although from the look of the previous reviews, I'm one of the few who had an issue with the book at all.

I won't be reading any more of this series. It is far too wash, rinse, and repeat for me. I liked the two leads, and together they made the strongest couple, but the poor supporting characters and weak subplot as well as a far-too-quickly wrapped up ending will not leave me remembering this series in a week's time. A nice story to lose yourself in for an couple of hours.

This was a good story and timely since it is Christmas time. I loved the whole idea of redemption and stepping out of your comfort zone. The characters were likeable. My only complaint is the book ended too soon, too many questions left unanswered.

This is a short sweet Christmas romance. I found it enjoyable, interesting. It certainly held my interest. I like the Bad Boy reformed character. It's not too deep, there's not a ton of character development, but it still makes for a good holiday read.

Katy Rivers was safely living her life when she ran into "Hotty Scotty", a boy she went to high school with. The Sparks that fly between the two of them is something undeniable. It's up to Katy to take a chance, but with the pressures from family and friends things become even more complicated.

Although I enjoyed reading the story I was disappointed that I didn't get Scott's pov. In the previous books it was mixed pov throughout. I felt Scotts feelings could have been made known throughout not just towards the end. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
