Funny but heartwrenching, and recognizable. While Mrs. Jenkins is perhaps more human (and humanized) herein than a contemporary persona like Tommy Wiseau, we see echoes of her particular style of self-perception today in a world dominated by fame and attention. But hers appears here to be driven for a real love of music, and an unironic belief that she was truly gifted. I sincerely enjoyed reading this play, I found myself engaged and anxious on her behalf, and I would love to see it performed l [...]
