The first 80% of the book were so amazing, I knew it was going to go to my bestest of best shelf. Brilliant, fantastic, absolutely wonderful. Then the big twist came!I really didn't see it coming, and I mean REALLY, it was huge, BUT THE TWIST DIDN'T BOTHER ME AT ALL!!!It's what they (he) did in the last 20%, I know the reader knew about the twist but HE DIDN'T and I just don't approve of what he did with her :(((((((So it just all went wrong for me and I didn't enjoy the ending AT ALL!I pretty mu [...]

Ah, yes. Another read of an author new to me. I’m really making quite the habit of this, aren’t I? And once again, I wasn’t disappointed. I’m not going to waste time re-writing the book blurb for you, rather, I’ll just give you my thoughts.I loved the beginning of the story with the introduction of Samantha Wickersham to Gabriel Fairchild, which was both heartbreaking and heartwarming. Clearly a woman of great compassion, she made up her mind to do what she could to help him adjust to [...]

I liked this book quite a bit. But, to be honest, I expected to like it more than I did. It was very good, and I liked both the hero and the heroine. Samantha really did help Gabriel to come to terms with the loss of his sight, his disfigurement, and his loss of his place as 'golden boy' in his society world. I think one of my major issues was the events after the climax. Hmm, I think I would have preferred that he not regain his sight. Sounds bad, huh? Getting his sight back made things too eas [...]

The first part of this book was wonderful. Based on the book premise, I had expected a very angsty story with a dark and tortured hero, but it was actually a fun read - and I even laughed so much on one scene (when Beckwith, Gabriel's buttler, "described" Samantha's looks to him) that I had to stop reading for a moment. I really enjoyed the banter between Gabriel and Samantha, and I especially liked the fact that she didn't pity him - like she said, he had enough pity for himself already, so he [...]

Review is also on: Rabbit Ears Book BlogI really cannot get enough of Teresa Medeiros' works! I mean, she really knows how to create very heartwarming and very sensual romantic books and “Yours Until Dawn” is certainly no exception! “Yours Until Dawn” is the third book I read from Teresa Medeiros and it is about how a governess named Samantha Wickersham tries to help Gabriel Fairchild, who had lost his sight during the war, to cope with his blindness while loving him every inch of the wa [...]

I’m surprised at how much I really liked this book. I have to admit that I bought it quickly and didn’t realize that the hero was blind. Once I realized that I was leery about it. I didn’t want a “victim of the war” hero who needed a nursemaid and eventually falls in love with her –thankfully I didn’t get any of that. What an excellent story this turned out to be in the end. The hero really stood out in the face of adversity and he was soooooo sexy :D There’s also a very unexpect [...]

Note: Re-read on 27/2/14Rate: 5 STARSOh wow. After reading the synopsis I marked this book 'wish-list' and half a year later I finally found it. Now I am here to say that this book was fabulous. It was everything I was hoping for. The beginning truly touched my heart. Gabriel was one of the most well-written heroes. Everything about him screamed perfect. He was adorable in his beastliness. His blindness and temper only added to his appeal which just goes to show a perfect hero is an imperfect one [...]

Enjoyable book but I found my interest wavering midway as the h and the suspense (which was such a non-suspense btw) had me grinding my teeth a few times. The H was so amazing - an enraged arrogant lion, wounded and blind, stumbling around yet so proud and droll. I liked the premise and the ending too. (view spoiler)[The past-The H Gabriel, an Earl has been smitten with the h, Cecily, a mere Baronet’s daughter for a long time but she holds him off by saying she would rather marry a solid gentl [...]

WHAT AN AMAZING READ!I just had the best time ever with this book. I regret so bad not having read it earlier because it was SO worth it! I don't even know where to startI'll do so by telling you all the way I felt while reading it:Let's just say I couldn't help getting a little teary eye, at least once every chapter,LOL. Happy tears though, so don't worry. It's just that I got so immersed into the story and so captivated by the characters that I just suffered when they did and I was happy for t [...]

3,5 estrellas.

You knowevery time that I think about this book, I just dislike it more and more, honestly. While I liked the story for the most part and thought it was greath, that final quarter of the book just ruins EVERYTHING! Gabriel is just awful in it. I originally gave this five stars, but then reduced it to a two because of the technical cheating (dubious though it may be). And now's a one. Though it makes for great angst, Gabe is just fucking awful to (view spoiler)[Cecily (hide spoiler)] in the last [...]

I first read YOURS UNTIL DAWN by Teresa Medeiros several years ago and it has remained one of my all time favourite historical romances. Warm, funny, heartrending, tender and sensual, re-reading it is one of my guilty pleasures.Gabriel Fairchild, Earl of Sheffield, is determined to show his fiancée that he has forsaken his rakish ways and is worthy of her love. To prove himself, Gabriel joins the Royal Navy but at the Battle of Trafalgar, he is wounded, leaving him facially scarred and blind. D [...]

It’s not my first novel of Teresa Medeiros, and I must confess that I enjoy more her Cabot serie (After Midnight and The Vampire Who Loved Me). Yours Until Dawn isn’t bad (at all!) but I get a little tired at the end. The true is: I love the first part of this book (Gabriel and Samantha in his house) and hate the part after (I can tell what happens or will spoil the story). I laugh, sigh, almost cry at the beginning… the first part was a rolling coaster of emotions… everything that I did [...]

Loved the Beauty and blind Beastiness of this story, the banter and chemistry between Gabriel, the blinded naval war hero, and his starchy, relentless and sharp-tongued nurse, Samantha. Spectacular! Fun, witty, with an undercurrent of pain and suffering deftly portrayed but never belabored. This was a great, fun read barreling along through lots of events and contests of wills. There is a terrific twist about which I will say NOTHING. But somehow I felt unhorsed close to the end for reasons I can [...]

2.5/5geez, what a disappointing read! it started very promising with the female lead applying for the position as a nurse for the prickly male lead who lost his sight half a year ago. things start to pick up when he finally agrees to learn "how to be blind" and tries to cope with his abilities and the cards that he has been dealt in life. trial and error. cane and guide dog. and then unfortunately things started turning to mush. the hero who "miraculously" gains his sight again, the heroine who [...]

4.5 starsThis month’s TBR challenge is Romance Classics, a classic book, classic author, classic trope/theme etc. That’s rather an embarrassment of riches! The classics of HR that sprang immediately to mind were ones I’ve already read; Lord of Scoundrels, Flowers from the Storm, Whitney My Love and the like, so I discounted those - and got stuck. I then remembered that Smart Bitches, Trashy Books has done an occasional series which asked “which books should I read by X?” (X being an au [...]

Gabriel is blind and abandoned by his beloved fiance, Cecily. But then sassy, stubborn Samantha shows up and proves that there's more to life than being an asshole. WILL SECRETS GET IN THE WAY OF SEXY BLIND LOVE?1. IT IS HARD TO TALK ABOUT THIS BOOK WITHOUT SPOILERS. SORRY.2. (view spoiler)[I actually called the twist waaaaay too early and then made the mistake of confirming my suspicions by flipping ahead to the last chapter. Ooh la la, who knew a blind, badly scarred man could be so sexy? SighI absolutely love, want to hug and kiss this book, it made me so happy:) This was my first time reading anything by Teresa Medeiros and I inhaled it. I bought this for my kindle over a year ago and didn't really want to read a story about a man who was blinded at war. It had "tortured hero" written all over it (I hate tortured heroes). Somehow, despite it being sad that he was dealing with this affliction, this was one of the f [...]

Not Now...Mommy's Reading Dec 11, 2018 - 17:56 PM
I read this book in one day and enjoyed every minute of it. It has the classic "Beauty and The Beast" theme which happens to be a favorite of mine. Samantha was a spunky heroine who's quick wit and spunk made her the perfect match for her impatient patient. Gabriel was a hero to be adored. Unlike most "wounded" heroes who choose to sulk and mope about - Gabriel's defense was witty sarcasm and a beastly temper. He was a complete ass and I simply adored him! I found myself laughing out loud severa [...]

Damn it. This could have been wonderful. This could have been 5+ stars. This could have been one of those books that you re-read over and over again like May 1812But it failed. Miserably and awfully and stupidly. It was WONDERFUL until Chapter 19 and then it all fell apart and became totally unbelievable and to some extent, very unsettling. I would rate the first half 5 stars and the last half 1 stars but although I LOVED the set up, the overall story disappointed me and I can only give it a (gen [...]
